Village of Lower Crackpot

What a fantastic Labour Day!
We fulfilled the one clear aim of my long service leave – we visited the Village of Lower Crackpot at the Promised Land, Tasmazia.
We met with Brian and Laura Inder, Laird and Lady Crackpot, and Bob McKay, Rector of Lower Crackpot, and his wife Jan. We toured the Village of Lower Crackpot, wandered a maze, over indulged on pancake and experienced the vision, hard work and perseverance of an outstanding and passionate couple.
I declare an interest: I am a member of Clan Crackpot, I wore my Crackpot tartan tie for the day, and am also the Bishop of Lower Crackpot. The Village Motto is ‘Fractis Sed Utilis’, which translates, ‘broken but still useful’, which a cracked pot is.
– ‘broken but still useful’ Yeh! You’ve got to love it! http://www.tasmazia.com.au/home.html

  1. Bishop John,
Congratulations on your visit to this special part of your “realm”. Good to see that mundane things like house renovations are not able to keep you entirely from enjoying some travel – and some pancakes!

  2. Thanks, John. It’s just such a relaxing trip to another planet and so well launched with apple pancake with cream and ice cream!
The Laird of Crackpot has just published ‘On the Road to Crackpot’ and I was gifted a signed copy – so I have my retirement investment literally in hand!
I will let you all know about the book – currently on page 34. 🙂

  3. hope you didnt get lost in the maze bishop john !i havnt been there yet but have heard all about it and the pancakes !

  4. Ah Bishop!
Always ahead of the pack, it seems….

According to today’s Advocate, the Tasmazia has been named in a list of top 10 tourist destinations in the WORLD!! Maybe there could be some sort of sponsorship deal for the Bishop of Tasmazia???

  5. Agreed!! A tithe sounds like a good biblical starting point in the discipleship ‘generosity’ category. Keep those suggestions rolling!

  6. Hi Bishop John Have you read the poem ‘the Edge of the World’ which Brian Inder wrote – it is printed on a plaque when one stands at the edge of the world at Arthur River & the Sthn Ocean. Absolutely breathtaking and so are the words. Many tourists stand and read it.
