Letters I’d like to write to two leaders

Dear President Obama, The end does not justify the means.

re: his allowing federal funding for embryonic stem cell usage in biomedical research. Mr Obama, stated that banning funding had created “(I believe it is) a false choice between sound science and moral values. As a person of faith, I believe we are called to care for each other and work to ease human suffering.”  He has asked for guidelines to prevent cloning of human embryos.

Dear Prime Minister Rudd, You have been elected to lead, lead.

re: his stated opposition to abortion yet not being prepared to stand against the majority in his party who want to allow Australian foreign aid to so fund abortions in countries where it is legal. He is reported that “he backed but did not personally support the decision by Foreign Minister Stephen Smith to axe the ban”.

Dear President and Prime Minister, Life is precious, handle with sanctity and dignity.

I am with Cardinal Rigali, “This action is morally wrong because it encourages the destruction of innocent human life, treating vulnerable human beings as mere products to be harvested.”
