{"id":6408,"date":"2010-12-19T18:08:00","date_gmt":"2010-12-19T07:08:00","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/imaginarydiocese.org\/bishopjohn\/?p=6408"},"modified":"2010-12-18T23:45:37","modified_gmt":"2010-12-18T12:45:37","slug":"christmas-fading-in-the-holy-land","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/imaginarydiocese.org\/bishopjohn\/2010\/12\/19\/christmas-fading-in-the-holy-land\/","title":{"rendered":"Christmas fading in the Holy Lands"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>The silencing of the good news<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>I recall vividly our time with Palestinian Christians in the Holy Land, living in the shadow of Iraq&#8217;s invasion of Kuwait and the commencement of Iraqi shelling of Israel.<\/p>\n<p>I was deeply saddened at the way Palestinian Christians were being treated as \u2018the enemy&#8217; by the Israeli military forces and being treated with, at best, caution by Muslim Palestinians. Palestinian Christians were \u2018caught in the middle&#8217;!
