It is provided by\u00a0Joe Egerton from the online Journal of the British Jesuits, <a href=\"http:\/\/www.thinkingfaith.org\/index.htm\">&#8216;Thinking Faith&#8217;<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>Joe Egerton shows how\u00a0Harry Potter can help us to enter into conversation with non-Christians about central aspects of the Christian faith. For example, the\u00a0theme of\u00a0virtues\u00a0such as\u00a0constancy, courage, friendship\u00a0and love are all in J K Rowling&#8217;s life of Harry Potter.\u00a0Other central aspects of the Christian faith also appear in Harry Potter: freewill, evil, death, life after death, personal responsibility and repentance.<\/p>\n<p>Of course there are aspects of Harry Potter&#8217;s life\u00a0that are not easily engaged with the Gospel and sometimes we may try too hard. For example, Joe Egerton uses &#8216;the resurrection stone&#8217; in Harry Potter\u00a0to\u00a0converse with the catholic practice of appealing to the saints for help.\u00a0Personally, I would chose to converse about\u00a0other themes.
