In 2009 Yulki Nunggumajbarr became the Anglican Church\u2019s first remote area indigenous woman priest. She\u2019s since been posted to Groote Eylandt, in the Gulf of Carpentaria, to help revive a dying church. Although in her 70s, Yulki\u2019s already having an impact, but she faces enormous challenges. Besides the problems of substance abuse, unemployment and ill health, the island\u2019s aboriginal community is deeply divided along clan lines. It\u2019s also experiencing a resurgence of belief in \u2018evil spirits\u2019 and the power of \u2018curses\u2019.
