I received an email this afternoon from Tim Costello,\u00a0Chief Executive\u00a0of World Vision, regarding an assault on the World Vision office in Pakistan. This is what Tim wrote to his staff this morning,<\/p>\n
Colleagues,<\/p>\n
World Vision is today mourning the brutal and senseless deaths of six members of our staff in the Mansehra District of Pakistan after an unprovoked attack by gunmen.<\/p>\n
We believe that gunmen first set off bombs or grenades, then opened fire on the office, located 65 kilometres north of the capital, Islamabad. \u00a0<\/p>\n
In addition to those killed, seven other staff are hospitalised with injuries -we understand these staff are in a stable condition. \u00a0<\/p>\n
All of World Vision\u2019s operations in the country have been suspended indefinitely.<\/p>\n
Please pray for the affected staff and their families, and keep them in your thoughts during this tragic time.<\/p>\n
We will find a time to come together in prayer and I will let you know as soon as this has been determined.<\/p>\n
In the meantime, I ask that at 3.00 pm today we have a minute of silence to remember our colleagues.<\/p>\n
