The banning of the use of the word &#8216;Allah&#8217; in the Bible is a good example of precisely what the <a href=\"http:\/\/imaginarydiocese.org\/bishopjohn\/2009\/12\/16\/parliament-of-religions%e2%80%93review\/\">Parliament of the World&#8217;s Religions<\/a>\u00a0seeks to avoid. Excert from the &#8216;Malaysian Insider&#8217; re the ban on &#8216;Allah&#8217; being used in the Bible in Malaysia, quoting Senior federal counsel from the Malaysian Attorney General&#8217;s Chambers, Kamaludin:<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>&#8220;The anti-propagation law was meant to \u201cavoid creating confusion and misunderstanding\u201d among the majority Muslim Malaysians who have grown up knowing the term \u201cAllah\u201d to be exclusive to their community.<\/p>\n<p>Kamaludin dismissed the church&#8217;s stress on the historical significance of Christians in the country and region using the word \u201cAllah\u201d long before Muslims did as \u201cnot relevant\u201d and added that there was no proof today the word was still being used in its original context among Malaysian Christians.<\/p>\n<p>But he may have gone too far when he tried to counter the widespread use of Arab Christians who also use the word \u201cAllah\u201d to refer to their God.<\/p>\n<p>Kamaludin claimed that Arab Christians believed that God was one, unlike Malaysian Christians who subscribe to the \u201ctrinity\u201d concept of \u201cGod the Father, God the Son, and God the Holy Ghost\u201d.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>You have to ask if the Malaysian Government&#8217;s claim that Arab Christians and Malaysian Christians have different understandings of the Christian doctrine of God\u00a0is blind ignorance or bad information\u00a0or\u00a0a knowing untruth used\u00a0in the pursuit of religious and political imposition of power.<\/p>\n<p>See the\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/www.themalaysianinsider.com\/index.php\/malaysia\/46454-banning-christians-from-using-the-word-allah-unconstitutional-court-told\">full report by Debra Chong<\/a>.
