{"id":15868,"date":"2015-12-16T22:13:44","date_gmt":"2015-12-16T11:13:44","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/imaginarydiocese.org\/bishopjohn\/?p=15868"},"modified":"2015-12-16T22:14:28","modified_gmt":"2015-12-16T11:14:28","slug":"praying-in-real-time","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/imaginarydiocese.org\/bishopjohn\/2015\/12\/16\/praying-in-real-time\/","title":{"rendered":"Praying in real time"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>In conversation about prayer today,\u00a0Peter Adam commented on\u00a0Brother Andrew and prayers for a persecuted church:<\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<div><span style=\"color: black;font-family: Georgia,serif;font-size: small\">Please don\u2019t pray for us. <\/span><\/div>\n<div><span style=\"color: black;font-family: Georgia,serif;font-size: small\">Please pray <\/span><span style=\"color: black;font-family: Georgia,serif;font-size: small\"><u>with<\/u><\/span><span style=\"color: black;font-family: Georgia,serif;font-size: small\"> us.<\/span><\/div>\n<div><span style=\"color: black;font-family: Georgia,serif;font-size: small\">If you pray <\/span><span style=\"color: black;font-family: Georgia,serif;font-size: small\"><u>for<\/u><\/span><span style=\"color: black;font-family: Georgia,serif;font-size: small\"> us, you will pray for the wrong things. <\/span><span style=\"color: black;font-family: Georgia,serif;font-size: small\">You will pray for safety. <\/span><\/div>\n<div><span style=\"color: black;font-family: Georgia,serif;font-size: small\">But if you pray <\/span><span style=\"color: black;font-family: Georgia,serif;font-size: small\"><u>with<\/u><\/span><span style=\"color: black;font-family: Georgia,serif;font-size: small\"> us, <\/span><span style=\"color: black;font-family: Georgia,serif;font-size: small\">you will ask God to bring millions to faith in Christ. <\/span><\/div>\n<div><span style=\"color: black;font-family: Georgia,serif;font-size: small\">You will pray that when the inevitable backlash comes because of our witness, we will be faithful, even if it costs us our lives.<\/span><\/div>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Can I pray in this way for the persecuted church?<\/p>\n<p>Can I pray this\u00a0for\u00a0our missionaries, can I pray this for myself in the evolving context of Australian life and ministry?<\/p>\n<p>May\u00a0God give me the strength to be real in my discipleship, in my prayer life.
