Many of you would have no doubt been dismayed at recent reports of the kidnapping of 276 schoolgirls in Northern Nigeria – targeted for seeking an education and for their supposed indoctrination in Western values. There were also reports on\u00a0last week\u00a0that a further 11 girls had been kidnapped. We can only imagine the pain and grief that the girls and their families must be enduring at this time.
\n<\/span>
\nPlease pray the following prayer which was written by Elizabeth Smith\u00a0(International Anglican Women’s Network).<\/span><\/p>\n

O God, we cry out to you<\/em><\/span>
\nfor the lives and the freedom<\/em><\/span>
\nof the 276 kidnapped girls in Nigeria. <\/em><\/span>
\nIn their time of danger and fear, <\/em><\/span>
\npour out your strong Spirit for them. <\/em><\/span>
\nMake a way home for them in safety. <\/em><\/span>
\nMake a way back for them <\/em><\/span>
\nto the education that will lift them up. <\/em><\/span>
\nHold them in the knowledge <\/em><\/span>
\nthat they are not captive slaves, <\/em><\/span>
\nthey are not purchased brides, <\/em><\/span>
\nbut they are your beloved daughters, <\/em><\/span>
\nand precious in your sight. <\/em><\/span>
\nChange the hearts and minds of their kidnappers <\/em><\/span>
\nand of all who choose violence against women and girls. <\/em><\/span>
\nCast down the mighty from their seat, <\/em><\/span>
\nand lift up the humble and meek, <\/em><\/span>
