There is a prayer gathering for all Christians at St. David’s Cathedral, Hobart on\u00a0Monday 2 September, 12 noon – 2.00pm.\u00a0\u00a0It would be wonderful to see many gathered in prayer at this important time for our nation.<\/p>\n

Lord of every time and place, God of integrity and truth,
\nwe pray for wisdom as we prepare to vote in the Federal election.
\nFor this land and the diversity of its peoples, we thank you, Lord.
\nFor all who work for peace and justice in this land, we thank you, Lord.
\nFor leaders who serve the common good, we thank you, Lord.
\nFor robust democracy and freedom to participate in public life,
\nwe thank you, Lord.
\nFor media scrutiny and open debate, we thank you, Lord.
\nLet us pray to the Lord, saying, \u2018Hear us, good Lord\u2019.
\nBless those who administer the electoral process,
\nthat they may uphold fairness, honesty and truth.
\nHear us, good Lord.
\nImpart your wisdom to all who propose policy,
\nthat their promises may serve those in greatest need.
\nHear us, good Lord.
\nGive integrity to party leaders, candidates and campaign workers,
\nand keep them from deceit and corruption.
\nHear us, good Lord.
\nProtect all engaged in public life, with their families, friends and colleagues,
\nthat nothing may demean or do them harm.
\nHear us, good Lord.
\nDirect those who influence opinion through the media,
\nthat we may listen, speak and vote with sound minds.
\nHear us, good Lord.Lord of every time and place, source of all authority,
\nwe pray for wisdom as we prepare to vote in the Federal election.
\nGive us a Parliament committed to the priorities of your kingdom,
\nso that peace, compassion, truth and justice may prevail among us,
\nand make us a blessing to all peoples, through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.God, bless Australia, guard our people, guide our leaders and give us peace;
