GOD OF LIFE – A Prayer, Draft 1<\/strong> [working on my upcoming\u00a0Synod Address]<\/p>\n

God, life creator,<\/p>\n

We praise you for your majesty, your power,<\/p>\n

your creating word, \u201cLet there be \u2026 and there was\u201d<\/p>\n

We praise you for the beauty of all that was made, \u201cand it was good\u201d.<\/p>\n

Instil in us gratitude for life, for your gift of life.<\/p>\n

We thank you for sending us the Word of Life, Your Beloved Son.<\/p>\n

God of Life, we praise You.<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

God, life redeemer,<\/p>\n

We praise you for saving us from ourselves;<\/p>\n

for your heart to rescue rebels<\/p>\n

for your will to make it be<\/p>\n

for your sacrifice to set us free.<\/p>\n

Empower us through your Spirit<\/p>\n

to live free from sin and self<\/p>\n

to live free for life in Christ,<\/p>\n

the Word of Life, our Rescuer and Redeemer.<\/p>\n

God of Life, we praise You.<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

God, life sustainer,<\/p>\n

We praise you for upholding the universe<\/p>\n

for indwelling the world you made<\/p>\n

for not abandoning us<\/p>\n

for Christ in whom we live and move and have our being.<\/p>\n

Sustain us by your life-giving Spirit;<\/p>\n

may the fruit of the Spirit be abundant<\/p>\n

may this abundance flow through our service.<\/p>\n

Empower us for your work in your world.<\/p>\n

May the One who is the way, the Truth and the Life,<\/p>\n

be present in your community of life.<\/p>\n

May we be instruments of mercy, peace and justice,<\/p>\n

life-giving servants and faithful stewards of your world.<\/p>\n

We pray this in the Name of the Word of Life, Jesus Christ.<\/p>\n
