The Amish do share the Gospel. They do it everyday by their example. Their not perfect, but you dont need gimmicky rock music and millionaire preachers to do it. Evangelicals have caused more heartache then any other denomination, by their pride and aggression thats what they do they come in and destroy cultures and real trust and faith in God. Give me the amish anyday.

There is a big difference between evangelizing which is spreading the good news about jesus with your life your conduct and your words, and proselyzation, which is merely making converts to your brand of belief. unfortunatley evangelicals and charismatics do more of the latter

If the Amish followed Jesus' teachings, then they would be out evangelizing instead of keeping a tight-knit community. Jesus encouraged believers to go tell others.

It's good they've been shunned from by the Amish. Evangelicalism is against the Amish way of life. If the Amish were evangelicals than Amish culture would change for the worst. Amish have been sucessful soley because they haven't converted people outside their faith. The whole idea of the Amish is a ethno-religous community which keeps order.

Evangelicalism detroys churches, and it's even worse for ethno-religous communities. I've seen it happen with liberal mennoniotes. Evangelicalism makes church leaders greedy, always wanting more converts to increase their church flock, and money.

The Old Conservative Amish have already seen what a huge mistake liberalizing their beliefs, and evangelizing the faith has done to most mennonite movements. It destroys the culture, destroys the order, detroys the unity, it turns the church from a distinction, into the average American evangelical money seeking monopoly.
