i believe that everyone has the right to live how they want. So why shouldn’t people have the right to die how they want?

I agree with your comments, John. I would not be happy to leave decisions such as this to two medical people or to anyone else. We all deserve to be loved and cared for – cost is immaterial. Our church needs to oppose this government bill with all the energt we can muster.

Today’s (Pentecost Sun) Sunday Tasmanian section “Like it is” by Patsy Crawford showed just exactly why seniors in our community ought to fear the so-called ‘dying with dignity’ Bill. Patsy’s elderly relative had obviously become an inconvenience to her and the family, so had the option been open to them, they would have not ‘been between a rock and a hard place’ in choosing to end it. Very worrying stuff!

Dear Bishop,
I hope that you did not get my answer to your reply to the Euthanasia Bill at present before Parliament. My sight is so bad that I make a lot of mistakes and have to use the key to correct my work I am afraid that I must have pressed the wrong button because my reply disappeared before I had finished my work. If you do get it please forgive the mistakes and take my remarks as my true feelings on this matter
